Maharashtra the most population compared with other states in India. Due to its overpopulation exploitation, Maharashtra is considered as the more energy-consuming state in India. Maharashtra is as one among the foremost industrialized and urbanized states within the country. India features a vast supply of renewable energy resources. This state also has fixed targets for capacity installation for four variant renewable-based power generations. Keeping this insight, it's critical that Maharashtra should implement a comprehensive renewable energy policy with attention on promoting large scale solar projects in both urban and rural areas of the state. Maharashtra’s electricity demand has very high. The state has the total installed electricity generation capacity of 13.91%. This paper presents the various sources of energy and renewable energy available in Maharashtra which indirectly play the economic growth of the state.
